Meet Shane Stanfield, a Palm Harbor local who went from fighting fires in the military to igniting a movement in the world of recovery and holistic wellness. As the founder of Cryogenics Rejuvenation and Recovery, Shane’s journey is more than a business success story—it’s a testament to the power of personal transformation, cold therapy, and hard-earned discipline.
From Landscaping to Cryotherapy
After serving as a firefighter and EMT in the Air Force, Shane transitioned to civilian life, initially building a successful landscaping company. Working long days in the Florida heat, he developed a strong work ethic but also faced physical strain. A jiu-jitsu injury and a friend’s suggestion introduced him to cryotherapy, a treatment he was skeptical about at first. That first session changed everything.
“I hated the cold,” Shane admits. “But I loved the way it made me feel.”
Cryotherapy quickly became more than recovery—it became Shane’s new calling.

What Is Cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy involves exposing the body to extreme cold for a short time (around 3 minutes) to reduce inflammation, improve recovery, and boost mental clarity. Unlike ice baths, which use wet cold, cryotherapy uses dry cold, making the treatment faster and, for many, more comfortable. Shane highlights benefits like reduced cortisol levels, better sleep, and increased energy.
He explains, “The service is amazing. It helps with arthritis, joint pain, anxiety, and more. And it only takes three minutes.”

Building Cryogenics Rejuvenation and Recovery
Opening Cryogenics in 2018, Shane started with just three services: cryotherapy, cryo facials, and compression therapy. Operating from a modest 900-square-foot space, he ran both the cryotherapy center and his landscaping company simultaneously—a grind that eventually paid off. Today, Cryogenics has expanded to nearly 3,000 square feet, offering services like red light therapy, saunas, cryo-slimming, steam pods, and even medical weight loss.
The 75 Hard Challenge: More Than Just a Workout
A major turning point for Shane was completing the 75 Hard Challenge. This intense program requires two workouts a day (one outdoors), a gallon of water, a strict diet, daily progress photos, reading, and no alcohol or cheat meals. It’s designed to build mental toughness—something Shane says reshaped both his health and his approach to business.
“That last 25 days taught me that pushing a little further makes all the difference. It separated me from average.”
Lifestyle Over Shortcuts
Shane emphasizes that Cryogenics isn’t just about offering services—it’s about helping people shift their lifestyles. From coaching clients through weight loss to accountability programs and community partnerships with local gyms, the business is rooted in transformation, not quick fixes.
While they offer medical weight loss tools like semaglutide, Shane stresses that their focus is on guiding clients through sustainable health changes. “We don’t just sell services. We help people change their lives.”
Real Recovery, Real People
From former athletes to people suffering from chronic pain or fatigue, Cryogenics caters to a wide audience. Shane and his team provide hands-on support, ensuring clients see results and stick with the program.
Even after years in business, Shane stays grounded. He credits his family, faith, and the struggles of his early years for keeping him motivated. He’s proud to lead by example, staying sober and living the lifestyle he encourages for others.
